The transition from carburettor to fuel injection and the introduction of new anti-pollution laws all had a sizeable impact on the power of the 308 GTBi compared to its predecessor, the 308 GTB. Research to remedy this situation was quickly undertaken and soon showed that four valves per cylinder, hence the name quattrovalvole, offered the optimal solution. This innovation saw the engine make up its lost performance, pushing the output back up to 240 hp.

This 308 Quattrovalvole is presented in its factory colour of Rosso Corsa, which had a full respray just last year, whilst the interior benefitted from a black leather retrim earlier in its life. Included is an extensive history file detailing the mileage the car has covered along with original order forms and documentation from The Maranello Concessionaires Archive.

The car has just been inspected in our workshop and a service and cambelt replacement was carried out, along with new spark plugs, cam cover gaskets and oil seals. The exhaust has also had specialist repairs completed on it. A full condition report is available on request.
