The Ferrari F40 has two fuel tanks – one on each side of the car just in front of the rear wheels. The European F40s have a unique set up with rubber bag tanks encased in sponge which require replacement approximately every ten years. These are considered safer in an impact situation than the US cars which have aluminium tanks.
This iconic F40, one of several looked after by Barkaways, was overdue on the replacement of the bag tanks so we ordered in the new units and replaced the old ones.
