Restoration

At Barkaways we have gained a wealth of experience in the restoration of classic cars. We have achieved award winning success with a number of cars undergoing full and partial restorations; returning them to their former glory.

Our customers are an integral part of the process and they tell us they enjoy the experience; from unearthing history of the car, watching the layers being removed to reveal the bare shell, researching parts, choosing and approving paint colour and interior trim. On some occasions we have been able to unveil the fully restored car on the Concours Lawns in the UK and Europe.

What we offer

We work with our customers through the whole process to ensure the integrity and historical provenance of the car remains intact; at the same time enhancing investment and ensuring our customers budgets are managed, expectations met and in most cases exceeded.

Ian Barkaway has been involved in award winning Ferrari restoration for over 30 years. He has become well known and highly respected for his honest and trustworthy approach to all his restoration projects; providing outstanding levels of customer service and uncompromising attention to detail.

A restoration can involve many stages and will depend on the condition of the car and the end goal the customer wants to achieve. With our own in-house body shop we can complete metal work, body work and paint spraying on site. In our mechanical workshop we rebuild our engines gearboxes and carry out all suspension, electrical, refurbishment and final project assembly.
