Ferrari Factory Visit
Before Ian's feet could touch the ground following the successful Spring Open Day, he was flying off to Italy to fulfil his ambition of visiting the factory of Ferrari. Ian joined a small group of fellow owners and enthusiasts on a voyage of discovery in Modena; he dined with Ferrari, experienced the sights and sounds of the factory floor, wandered through the archives and delighted in the wonders of the Ferrari Museum. 'Child' and 'sweet factory' springs to mind.
Ian had also arranged a visit to the Classiche department to see the factory restoration projects first hand. As you may know, all of the restorations Barkaways carry out go through the Ferrari Classiche certification programme and this was a great opportunity for Ian to meet the team in Italy.
The hard work (fun) didn't stop there as Ian accompanied a customer, who had just purchased a 550 Maranello in Italy. The customer had arranged to collect it with Ian and drive it back to the UK. A successful and exhilarating test drive back to the Barkaways workshop where a full service, cambelt change and minor servicing work is being undertaken before the car hits the road for the summer.
