Saturday 11th June was our annual open and we were pleased to welcome so many of you, and also relieved that the rain stayed away! We have had wonderful feedback about how much people enjoyed the day and appreciated the entertainment and hospitality we provided, as well as the cars that people were able to see on display. We were able to reveal our new building which is a welcome addition to the existing units we have and provides space for sales, storage, and gives us further workshop space. This large unit enabled Ian, Martin and Spencer to deliver their speeches with the space to drive in some of the cars Ian was talking about, allowing people to not only see them but hear them as well; an Iso Grifo which we have recently fully restored, a Dino which has also had a full restoration and an original Lancia Stratos which we have worked on. We were also delighted to have the F1 Benetton Nelson Piquet car which John Reaks and his team started up for us after lunch. Ian was particularly pleased to be able to have the Colin McRae 6R4 Metro in the workshop, a car that he and his good friend Royston Carey used to chase around the Welsh forests in their rallying days! The team were pleased to show off the work that they do in the stages of a restoration; metal work, paint, mechanical and final finish. It was a wonderful day and we really appreciate our original customers who have continued to support us since the early days and delighted to welcome those who were visiting us for the first time. We are also very grateful to all our team, friends and family who continue to work so hard at our open days which enables us to put on an event that we hope reflects why Barkaways is different. We look forward to seeing you all again next year, Ian, Andrea and all the team
