Saturday 20th July 2019 saw the running of the Barkaways Ferrari Tour, the third in what has become an eagerly anticipated annual event for our clients and customers.
The day started early with participants arriving and parked in group order well ahead of the 9am serving of fresh coffee and pastries. A driver briefing followed with all three groups out on the road by 10 AM. Whilst the day started with light drizzle the weather improved literally 2 -3 miles from our workshops and we found ourselves driving in sunshine for the majority of the 95-mile course.
Three groups, including a 512 BB, 488, 458 Spiders, several 360’s, F430’s, 355’s and one Barkaways Caterham 7 set off in ten-minute intervals making their way across Sevenoaks, the Ashdown Forest towards Eastbourne. A lead car was assigned per group but all those taking part were also afforded a bespoke road book produced specifically for the 2019 Tour.
From the half way point close to Bexhill, groups made their way back across to Eridge Green just outside Tunbridge Wells for secure parking and a superb lunch served at the Nevill Crest and Gun.
With the fortune of great weather and clear flowing roads, all agreed that the Tour was an absolute success, an opportunity to meet with likeminded individuals, have a delicious lunch and a chance for owners to simply enjoy their Ferrari.
