Saturday 20th May 2017 saw the running of the Barkaways V8 Tour, the first in what we hope will be a series of events for owners of specific Ferrari models.
The day started bright and early for coffee, pastries and a briefing whilst bathed in glorious sunshine.
Three groups, including a 288 GTO, F40, 348, 355, 308, several 360’s, F430’s and 458’s set off in ten minute intervals and made their way across the Sevenoaks Weald, the Ashdown Forest and down to Lewes. Each group had a lead car but all those taking part were afforded a bespoke road book produced specifically for the 90-mile course.
Upon arriving in Lewes, groups passed through the Lewes tunnel on to a roundabout and then back through the Tunnel. The sound was incredible.
From the South coast, groups made their way across the Sussex and Kent countryside to Matfield for secure parking and lunch served at the Poet but only after we were given a private demonstration from the team at the Supercar paint protection company based in Matfield.
All agreed that the Tour was an absolute success, a chance to meet with friends both old and new with superb Spring weather, an engaging route, fantastic restaurant but most importantly, a chance for owners to enjoy their Ferrari.
