Barkaways Victory at FOC Concours
The Ferrari Owners Club National Concours on Sunday 8th July 2012 saw the culmination of 12 months hard work, effort and passion pay off. The 246 Dino, on its debut on the Concours Lawns drove away with the Best in Class honour. This was a very proud moment for Ian and the team who were there to share in this fantastic achievement with owners James and Shelagh Needham. The Dino acheived the highest points of the day.
If this was not reason enough to celebrate an already successful first year of Barkaways, a further two Barkaways customers both achieved Best in Class trophies. Gary Browns 550 Maranello and Nigel Allens 575 Superamerica. Ian had inspected both these cars prior to purchase and had accompanied Gary back from Italy with the 550 only a few months ago. Both cars had undergone repair, servicing, detailing and restoration work with us. Both owners were pleased and proud to receive the accolades and thanked Ian and his team for the part that Barkaways played in them achieving success.
Winning Best of Class meant that all three cars were judged for Best in Show, a class that included 11 cars in total. The icing on the cake was the 575 Superamerica going on to receive overall car of the day, the HR Owen trophy.
The owner was shocked, surprised and delighted and expressed his gratitude on his FOC victory by saying \Congratulations to all at Barkaways for helping me to win the Ferrari Owners Club 'Best of Show' with my Ferrari 575 Super America. The mornings judging took place prior to the heavens opening nicely timed to head into the marquee for a delicious lunch; the sun then shone all afternoon. Despite the weather spirits were high and the turnout was better than expected. The Concours was the last one for Peter and Suzanne Everingham and Barkaways would like to thank them for their involvement and commitment to the FOC over the years. Thanks also go to Sandra Dent and the team at the FOC for organising the event and look forward to more in the coming months. It was a great day for all the Barkaways team and was made incredibly memorable for the team and customers alike. Thanks to James Gary and Nigel for the continued support and positive comments following the very successful day.
